Nieuwe Steen Investments sells six properties

Hoorn – Nieuwe Steen Investments N.V. has sold six properties (two industrial buildings, an office building and three retail outlets) to a private investor in real estate. The sale price for the six properties amounts to $E12.8$ million. The properties are distributed throughout the Netherlands. The sale is part of Nieuwe Steen Investments' strategy of disposing of a number of properties of limited size.

Nieuwe Steen Investments aims at reducing the number of properties in its portfolio, by divesting small, management-intensive properties. The proceeds will be reinvested in larger properties in Switzerland and the Netherlands. The sale price is approximately $\epsilon$ 0.2m in excess of book value at the end of Q3 2008. The objects were not involved in negative revaluations during the year.

Johan Buijs, Nieuwe Steen Investments' CEO, says about the transaction: "It is good to see that in the current market we have been able to sell properties at a good price and to optimise our portfolio at the same time."
