PRESS RELEASE 21 June 2011

The Keizerslanden shopping centre redevelopment agreement signed today

The municipality of Deventer, housing corporation ieder1, NSI and Multi signed an agreement regarding the redevelopment and extension of shopping centre Keizerslanden today. Already in november 2010 parties reached an agreement in principle and the contract that was signed today contains the specifics of the redevelopment plan.

New bustling centre for Keizerslanden

Shopping centre Keizerslanden is centrally located in the district of the same name in Deventer and is an important link in the regeneration plans for Keizerslanden. The modernisation and extension of the shopping centre, including an expanded range of shops will provide a higher standard of service and additional employment opportunities for the district. The integral development plan consists of the already mentioned redevelopment of the shopping centre, approximately 40 newly developed residential units for rent or for sale, additional public parking spaces and the renewal of the public area. The plan will lead to a new bustling district centre and a genuine meeting place together with the nearby Keizerspark. The parties involved in this project will invest over €25 million in the district.

NSI and Multi will jointly execute and realise the redevelopment of the shopping centre. Multi will develop and realise the residential units on the instructions of ieder1. The municipality of Deventer is responsible for the public area.

Marc-Jan Ahne, alderman of Deventer

'The shopping centre was in need of regeneration. The plans that we will execute will lead to renewal and the district's economy will receive a boost. The inhabitants will benefit from a good shopping centre, liveliness due to the additional residential units and, due to the services in Graaf Florishof, even more possibilities to meet and interact.'

Johan Buijs, NSI's CEO

'This project is important in realising NSI's aim to add value to its property portfolio through redevelopment, modernisation and extension. At the same time, it will provide an important boost to the local economy and the quality of life in the community.'

Information sessions

Wednesday 22 June 2011 will see an information session for parties directly involved and there will be drop-in sessions for the inhabitants of Keizerslanden on Wednesday 29 June 2011.

Design and planning

T + T Design, Multi's in-house design studio, will create the urban concept. In the subsequent phase RPHS Architects will bring the plan to a design, in close cooperation with neighbours and retailers, which should be available at the end of 2011. The plan will be executed in stages. Delivery of the first stage is expected in the autumn of 2013 and the total plan will be realised at the end of 2014.
