NORTHERN STAR APPOINTS MICHAEL CHANEY AS NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIR
Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX: NST) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Michael Chaney AO as Non-Executive Chair, effective from July 1, 2021.
Mr Chaney is one of Australia’s most respected business figures with more than four decades of experience as a senior executive and Director.
He is currently Chairman of Wesfarmers (ASX: WES) and was previously Chairman of National Australia Bank (ASX: NAB) and Woodside Petroleum (ASX: WPL). Mr Chaney was also a Director of BHP (ASX: BHP) and Managing Director of Wesfarmers from 1992 to 2005.
Mr Chaney holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Western Australia and worked for eight years as a petroleum geologist in Australia and the US.
Mr Chaney will replace Bill Beament, who will leave the Northern Star Board on July 1, 2021. Mr Beament said Mr Chaney’s wealth of experience would be invaluable to Northern Star as it entered its next chapter of growth.
