CFO APPOINTMENT
Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX: NST) announces the resignation, effective 31 December 2021, of Morgan Ball as Chief Financial Officer and the re-appointment of Ryan Gurner as CFO from that date. Mr Gurner was previously CFO of Northern Star prior to the merger with Saracen Mineral Holdings this year.
Northern Star Managing Director Stuart Tonkin said that Morgan had done an outstanding job as CFO of the merged group. "His skills and experience were particularly valuable in dealing with the complexities that always accompany such a merger,“ Mr Tonkin said.
Mr Ball said that he was pleased to have been able to steer the Company’s commercial and finance activities through that period of consolidation and integration. “Northern Star has a strong balance sheet and is well positioned to fund its growth pipeline to 2Mozpa. The last ten months have been fulfilling and demanding and I am looking forward to the next phase of my career,” he said.
Mr Tonkin said he was delighted that Mr Gurner had agreed to return to the CFO role.
“Ryan knows our business, our strategy and our culture intimately,” he said. “He is ideally placed to return to the CFO role and help lead the Company as we implement our five-year strategy.”
Mr Gurner joined Northern Star as General Manager - Finance in January 2015. He is a Chartered Accountant with extensive mining experience in Australia, North America, Asia and Europe. He has filled numerous roles including Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary, General Manager of Finance and Financial Controller of ASX and TSX-listed companies. Mr Gurner holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting and Finance) and a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours.
