Passing of Non-Executive Director

Northern Bear plc (NTBR) today announces with great sadness that Ian McLean, a Non-Executive Director of the Company, passed away this week following a short illness. 

Ian was part of the broking team which originally helped Northern Bear to obtain its quotation on AIM, and he subsequently joined the Company's Board in November 2008.  Ian helped to guide Northern Bear through some difficult periods following his appointment, including through a severe recession and a major restructuring process, and his continued involvement and support have proved invaluable. 

Ian has been a great friend and colleague and will be missed by everyone in the Northern Bear family of companies.
