NORMA Group equips Kiev football stadium for the European Championships

Maintal, 10 February 2012 – NORMA Group AG ('NORMA Group'), a global market and technology leader in engineered joining technology, has provided 40,000 pipe connections (NORMA Connect DCS) for the football stadium in Kiev. The stadium in the Ukrainian capital will inter alia be the venue for the finals of the 14th European Football Championships on 01 July 2012.

Werner Deggim, CEO of NORMA Group, says: 'We are excited that our innovative joining technology is making a contribution to the European Football Championships. Our pipe couplings ensure tight pipe systems even at high loads.'

NORMA Group's joining technology is being used in the drainage system of the stadium seating around 70,000 visitors. The drainage pipes stretch over more than 13 kilometres. NORMA Group's technology locks the drainage pipes of a vacuum system by Roediger Vacuum GmbH and keeps them tight. The pipe connections can compensate gaps of up to three millimetres and resist expansions caused by extreme temperature swings.

NORMA Group pipe couplings are used for building, bridge or property drainage as well as in laboratories and commercial kitchens.
