Nordic Unmanned opens UK office

Nordic Unmanned opens UK office

16.11.2021 07:40:24 CET | Nordic Unmanned | Non-regulatory press releases

Nordic Unmanned opens an office in the United Kingdom in order to increase its

presence in this key market.

"Expanding our geographical footprint is a key part of our growth strategy, and

the UK is a very important market for Nordic Unmanned, with substantial

potential within all our market verticals. Last year we were awarded an

innovation contract from the UK Ministry of Defence, and our new office signals

increased ambitions in this geography," said Knut Roar Wiig, CEO of Nordic

Unmanned.

The UK office is located in Cranfield, in the heart of the Oxford-Cambridge Arc.

The Arc is a major centre of the UK's high-tech manufacturing and research

industries and is home to businesses and universities that are leading the way

in developing leading-edge technology and services.

"Opening an office in the heart of the Oxford-Cambridge arc means that we can be

closer to our customers, and to give our UK employees an office to feel at home

in. The location also gives us the opportunity to be closer to our key partners,

as we continue to provide value to our customers," said Knut Roar Wiig, CEO of

Nordic Unmanned.

Nordic Unmanned UK is joining an established aviation innovation and technology

cluster formed in Cranfield, Bedfordshire. Its new office, at the Cranfield

Innovation Centre, gives Nordic Unmanned a local base to serve its UK customers

and the opportunity to work with other innovative small and medium sized

enterprises that are developing new technologies to support the projected high

growth of the unmanned aviation sector.

The United Kingdom has a rich history in aviation and its supporting

technologies. By embedding itself in the Cranfield hub, and through working with

a strong cluster of businesses specialising in aviation technology and research,

Nordic Unmanned will play its part in developing the UK's unmanned aviation

sector.
