Wavetrain secures updated CENELEC SIL2 approval for its AI and Machine Learning powered Level Crossing Warning System

Wavetrain secures updated CENELEC SIL2 approval for its AI and Machine Learning powered Level Crossing Warning System

Lysaker, Norway -- Wavetrain Systems AS, a subsidiary of Nordic Technology

Group AS (NTG), is pleased to announce that its latest Level Crossing Warning

System has achieved an updated CENELEC SIL2 approval. The system is powered by

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), delivering robust

detection performance and opening significant market opportunities in

condition based monitoring and maintenance.

Building on this technology, Wavetrain has completed final trial activities

with Network Rail, Wavetrain's key launch customer. This milestone marks an

important step toward broader deployment of the solution to enhance safety and

efficiency at level crossings.

"Achieving updated CENELEC SIL2 approval, together with the successful

completion of our final trials with Network Rail, demonstrates the maturity

and reliability of our AI driven approach," said Pål E. Bratlie, CEO of

Wavetrain Systems AS. "Our technology is designed to be installed quickly,

operate autonomously, and deliver the actionable insights operators need to

improve safety while significantly reducing lifecycle costs."

Strong global traction

Following the Network Rail purchase of one system, and next approval steps

towards final type approval, interest in Wavetrain's solution continues to

accelerate worldwide. Wavetrain is in active dialogue with infrastructure

stakeholders across Europe, North and Central America, Asia, and Oceania.

Two countries have initiated national approval processes and have decided to

purchase one Wavetrain's Level Crossing Warning System.

Wavetrain is also advancing negotiations with four more countries for system

sales and national roll outs.

Together, Network Rail and the two countries initiating national approvals

represent more than 23,000 level crossings corresponding to a total

addressable market (TAM) of more than NOK 11 billion, highlighting the

significant market potential for Wavetrain's solution.

Strategic partnerships

To support local sales and accelerate expansion, Wavetrain has entered into

two partnership agreements focused on strengthening market presence and

providing regional support. Wavetrain is receiving strong interest from

additional partners who want to represent Wavetrain and bring the product to

market, further broadening the company's reach and capacity to serve customers

globally.

Technology at a glance

Wavetrain's AI/ML enhanced system interprets acoustic signatures to detect

approaching trains and trigger appropriate warnings. The latest ML

capabilities enable improved performance, support condition based maintenance,

and provide a scalable foundation for future monitoring applications.
