Nordic Mining's chairman elected chairman of the board of the Geological Survey of Finland
Nordic Mining's chairman elected chairman of the board of the Geological Survey of Finland
Tarmo Tuominen (51), chairman of the board of Nordic Mining ASA has been
elected chairman of the board of the Geological Survey of Finland
("GTK"). Tuominen has been elected for a period of three years.
Tarmo Tuominen is Chief Technology Officer in Nordkalk Oy Ab. Tuominen
is graduated as a geologist from Åbo Academy and has held various
positions in the Nordkalk Group including geologist, mining engineer,
general manager of subsidiaries and business area manager.
GTK is a Finnish centre of excellence in assessment, research and
sustainable use of mineral resources. The organization which has around
600 employees produces geological information for industry and society
with a purpose to promote systematic and sustainable use of mineral
resources.

Mining holds exploration rights in the Øksfjord region in Troms and
Finnmark where the Company has discovered a prospective area of sulphide
mineralisation. Through the subsidiary Nordic Ocean Resources AS, Nordic
Mining is exploring opportunities related to seabed mineral resources.
