NorCom unveiling an IT-based all-in solution for TV and media companies at
IBC
Munich, September 5, 2007 – At this year’s IBC, the leading European
broadcasting market fair, which is taking place on September 7 - 11 in
Amsterdam, NorCom will be unveiling for the first time its IT-based
integrated NCPower Pro solution for broadcasting and media companies.
NCPower Pro – Unified Media Factory – provides an end-to-end workflow
including ingesting, archiving, production and planning as well as
distribution and transmission. With this range of functions coupled with
its open and scalable structure, NCPower Pro is a unique all-in system.
Live studio at the IBC media fair
At a live studio especially set up for the fair, international trade
audiences will be able to see for themselves the advantages and features of
the IT-based integrated solution. However, NorCom offers not only a
multimedia newsroom and production system but also an extensive array of
services related to NCPower Pro. The main success factors for users are
thus the ability to adapt the product flexibly and efficiently to their
specific needs as well as the availability of an integrated solution from a
single source backed up with comprehensive service and support.
New products and extensions
In particular, ongoing digitization of content and the related trend of
distributing TV via non-conventional broadcasting channels in the future is
opening up interesting growth potential for NorCom. Accordingly, NorCom has
extended its product range to additionally gain an optimum position in new
markets such as IPTV and mobile TV.
In addition to its NCPower Pro Classic product, which is used for
integrating existing broadcasting structures, NorCom is now also presenting
new modules to cover IPTV/web TV and mobile TV applications.
Together with its partner MCOM Medien:Communications, NorCom has developed
an innovative solution for IPTV (i.e. Internet television), which allows
companies to transmit individual program content.
The new mobile TV solution integrates all components from production to
playout right through to live reception on mobile telephones including
interaction components for consumers. Broadcasts produced using NCPower Pro
are not only available for downloading but also live. In addition, further
information such as a news ticker can be accessed via the same channel.
'Over the past few months, we have been working intensively on enhancing
our range of products and services and, in doing so, have produced new
product components for the innovative mobile TV and IPTV markets,' explains
Viggo Nordbakk, CEO and founder of NorCom.
'IBC will give trade audiences an excellent opportunity to acquaint
themselves with our full range of products and, in particular, to
experience them 'live'.
Not least of all, NorCom will be presenting at IBC the preliminary results
from the evaluation of a current study in which NorCom AG is working with
Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg to analyze the plans and
market prospects for German publishers in the IPTV market.
