Januar 2000 —- Die NorCom Information Technology AG und die Novell GmbH Deutschland vereinbaren eine strategische Zusammenarbeit. Laut Letter of Intent der Deutschen Tochter des amerikanischen Netzwerkspezialisten Novell und NorCom ist die Integration von Novell Directory Service (NDS) in das NorCom Sicherheitsprodukt NorCom Global Security geplant. NorCom Global Security soll damit auch den Directory-Standard NDS unterstützen. Inhalt der Vereinbarung ist die Nutzung des Novell Directory Services als zusätzliche Datenhaltung für NorCom Global Security. Damit ist ein weiterer entscheidender Schritt geleistet, NGS als Standardprodukt im Markt zu positionieren und das Novell-Kundenumfeld als neuen Absatzmarkt zu erschließen. Die Zusammenarbeit und technologische Integration bedeutet für NorCom Global Security ein zusätzliches Plus an Flexibilität: NorCom Global Security wird auf eine noch breitere Basis gestellt. Sämtliche NGS-Funktionalitäten und Sicherheitsdaten können entweder im Directory-Service von NGS oder alternativ in NDS von Novell abgelegt werden. Die Kooperation bestätigt NDS als einen der weltweit führenden Verzeichnisdienste und ideale Basis für Top-Technologien auch im Sicherheitsumfeld. “Novell freut sich auf die Partnerschaft mit NorCom,” sagt Ake Nylen, Director Strategic Development, Novell Europe, Middle East & Africa. “Mit seinen Internet-Services und dem führenden plattformübergreifenden Internet-Verzeichnisdienst NDS eDirectory ermöglicht es Novell den Unternehmen auf einzigartige Weise, die Grenzen zwischen dem unternehmenseigenen Intranet und dem Internet zu organisieren und zu verwalten. Für den Start-up wird die Vermarktung von NGS plus NDS über gemeinsame Vertriebs- und Marketingkampagnen im europäischen Raum vorangetrieben. Durch die Zusammenarbeit mit NorCom erweitert sich für Novell das Kundenumfeld im Finanzdienstleistungssektor. Umgekehrt wird die Palette von NorCom in Richtung Industrie und Handel ausgebaut. Die kombinierte Sicherheitslösung soll bereits zum Ende des I. Quartals dem Markt zur Verfügung stehen. Damit steht für NorCom Global Security ein weiteres Marktsegment von über 50 Millionen NDS-Kunden offen. Eintritt in italienischen Markt mit Live Network Security NorCom hat den italienischen Markt in Angriff genommen. Mit der in Mailand ansässigen Live Network Security srl, die ihr Kerngeschäft in der Beratung und Systemintegration im Security Umfeld hat, wurde eine Vereinbarung getroffen. Schwerpunkt der Zusammenarbeit ist die Produktvermarktung von NorCom Global Security. Live wird NGS sowohl direkt als auch mit System-Partnern in Italien vermarkten. Für das Jahr 2000 ist ein Absatzvolumen von 1,5 Mio. DM geplant. Aufgrund der Positionierung von Live, der Projekterfahrung und bestehenden Kundenkontakte zur Großindustrie sind die Italiener idealer Partner für die Vermarktung von NGS. ___________________________________________________________________________ NorCom getting off to a superb start Agreement signed with Novell Further step in internationalization Munich, January 31, 2000 — NorCom Information Technology AG and Novell GmbH Germany have agreed on a strategic partnership venture. According to the letter of intent made by the German subsidiary of US network specialist Novell and NorCom, the two companies plan to integrate Novell Directory Service (NDS) in the NorCom security product NorCom Global Security. As a result, NorCom Global Security will support the NDS directory standard. The letter of intent provides for Novell Directory Services to be used as an additional database for NorCom Global Security. This marks a further step towards positioning NGS as a standard product in the market and tapping Novell customers as a source of new business. The joint activities and technological integration give NorCom Global Security added flexibility: placing it on an even broader basis. All NGS functions and security data can be stored in the NGS directory service or Novell NDS. The joint activities provide further proof of NDS’ status as one of the world’s leading directory services and an ideal basis for top security technology. “Novell is excited in entering into this partnership with NorCom. To start off with, NGS plus NDS will be marketed in joint distribution and marketing campaigns throughout Europe. By working with NorCom, Novell will gain access to customers in the financial services sector. Conversely, NorCom will be able to penetrate the industrial and commercial sector. The combined security solution is to be launched at the end of the 1st quarter. This opens up a further market segment comprising 50 million NDS users for NorCom Global Security. Entry to the Italien market with Live Network Security NorCom has entered the Italian market. An agreement has been signed with Milan-based Live Network Security srl, whose core business focuses on security consulting and system integration. The main focus of the joint activities will be on marketing NorCom Global Security. Live will market NGS both directly and in conjunction with system partners in Italy. The sales target for 2000 is DM 1.5 million. Given its position, project experience and contacts with industrial clients, Live is the ideal partner for marketing NGS. Ende der Mitteilung
