NorCom launching regional broadcaster offensive with More TV in Murmansk,
Russia

  • Crucial strategic contract for further penetration of the regional
    broadcaster market

Munich, October 31, 2007 – NorCom Information Technology AG has again
landed a further sales success in the Russian market and thus additionally
reinforced its market position. With four national TV broadcasters in
Russia already using NorCom’s products, a regional operator has now also
been gained as a customer for the first time. Given the large number of
regional broadcasters in Russia, this contract constitutes an important
strategic step forward for NorCom, as it allows it to enter this extremely
attractive market at an early stage and to carve out a niche for itself.

A commercial broadcaster based in Murmansk, the world’s largest city north
of the Polar Circle, More TV plans to produce a round-the-clock program
comprising a high proportion of news and magazine content as of December
2007. The four daily news shows will provide coverage on current events in
Murmansk, Russia and the neighboring Scandinavian countries. More TV will
be broadcasting to the Murmansk region as well as cable TV users. With the
installation of NCPower Pro, the 25-strong newsroom staff at More TV will
have access to a tapeless end-to-end digital system for all TV-related
activities.

NCPower will be deployed in all core TV broadcasting processes such as
ingestion, archiving and playing out. Ultimately, all content produced by
More TV will pass through NCPower Pro. 'NCPower Pro is a cost-efficient,
high-quality solution satisfying all the requirements of a modern TV
broadcaster regardless of its size. We are convinced that with NCPower Pro
NorCom is also able to support smaller regional broadcasters,' explains
Viggo Nordbakk, CEO and founder of NorCom Information Technology AG.

Regional broadcaster offensive

NorCom’s activities in the Russian market reflect its strategic goal of
building up a strong position in the large regional broadcast market.
Having signed contracts with numerous large broadcasters, it is now turning
its attention to regional operators in Germany, the rest of Europe, the
Middle East and Russia. 'More TV is a reference project for us in our
regional broadcaster offensive. In the Murmansk region alone, a further 13
regional TV stations are operating, indicating that there is considerable
market potential in Russia as well as in our other target regions,' says
Viggo Nordbakk, explaining the company’s planned strategic orientation.
