Govt: Slots for Jet Airways to be based on existing norms

Defunct airline cannot claim "historicity" for slots at airports, NCLT was told

DEFUNCTJETAIRWAYS.which is undergoing insolvency resolution for nearly two years, cannot claim "historicity" for slots at airports, and allocation of slots will be based on existing guidelines, according to an affidavit.

The civil aviation ministry and aviation regulator DGCA have also informed the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) that for claiming historicity, the criteria cannot be based on contention that airline was in operation for 25 years.

Jet Airways, which shuttered operations in April 2019, is undergoing resolution process under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). The Jalan Kalrock Consortium has emerged as the winning bidder for the carrier and the resolution plan is before NCLT, Mumbai.

NCLT adjourned the hearing on Jet Airways case on Friday and the matter has been scheduled for hearing next week.

Yamuna body secures ₹3,725-cr loan from SBI for airport in Jewar

THE YAMUNA INTERNA-TIONAL Airport Private (YIAPL) has secured a loan of $\overline{53,725}$ crore from State Bank of India (SBI) for the development of Noida international airport at Jewarin Uttar Pradesh, according to a statement issued on Friday.

YIAPL is a 100% subsidiary of Zurich Airport International and has been incorporated to develop the airport in Jewar, which is around 70 km from the main Delhi region.

"The entire loan of $\bar{z}$ 3,725 crore has been underwritten by SBI on a door-to-door loan tenor of 20 years. We look forward to working closely with SBI to develop Noida international airport as a world class airport in India,"Christoph Schnellmann, the chief executive officer of YIAPL, said.

Door-to-door loan tenor of 20 years means the entire principal plus interest amount has to be paid within 20 years.

"YIAPLnowlooks forward to the conclusion of the UP government's resettlement and rehabilitation process and the start of construction of the airport," the statement added.

PNB fraud: Indian team sent to bring back Choksi leaves Dominica, heads home

INDIA'S MULTI-AGENCY team that had gone to Dominica to bring back Mehul Choksi is headed back home on a Qatar Airways private jet after the island nation's high court adjourned the hearing on the fugitive diamantaire's habeas corpus petition, sources said.

Publicly available flight data showed that the jet took off from the Melville Hall Airport in Dominica at 8.09 pm (local time) on June 3 and is travelling towards Madrid.

Daily tally of Covid cases declines to 1.32 lakh from peak of 4.14 lakh in May

THE NUMBER OF reported Covid-19 cases across the country has witnessed a steady decline, with daily cases coming down from the peak of 4.14 lakh on May 7 to 1.32 lakh on June 4. Lav Agarwal, joint secretary, ministry of health and family welfare, on Friday said the positivity rate was also seeing a steady decline across the country. The positivity rate has come down from 21.62% in the first week of May to 7.2% in the first week of June. Around 66% of the new cases were coming only from five states, indicating that the infections were under control. The remaining states are reporting less than 5,000 cases a day, Agarwal said.

In the last 24 hours, 32 states have seen more recoveries than the new reported cases figures. The number of districts reporting more than 100 cases daily was down from 538 at the peak to 257 districts at the moment, and are showing progressive decline. A reduction in daily active cases was achieved after 50 days. V K Paul, member, health, Niti Aayog, pointed out that Covid cases in India, if adjusted for population, were relatively modest when compared with global data. India had only 20,517 cases per million population. In comparison, the world average was higher at 22,181 cases per million population. UK was at 65,900 cases and US was at 1,02, 269 cases. Paul said India's death per million population was at 245, while world average was 477 deaths per million. Brazil was at 2,100 deaths and US was at 1,838 deaths.

Class 12 exams: CBSE panel to devise assessment criteria

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA New Delhi, June 4

THE CENTRAL BOARD of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday constituted a 13-member committee to work out an objective criteria for assessment of class 12 students after their board exams were cancelled. The panel will submit its report within 10 days.

"In view of the uncertain conditions due to Covid and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders, it was decided that class 12 board exams of CBSE will not be held this year. It was also decided that CBSE will take steps to compile the results as per a well defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner," said CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj.

"A 13-member committee has been constituted for the purpose. The panel will submit its report within 10 days," he added. The government on Tuesday cancelled the CBSE class 12 board exams amid the continuing Covid-19 pandemic across the country.

बच्चों की तार्किक क्षमता बढ़ाने के रसायन कारखाने में गैस रिसाव, लोगों को सांस लेने में हुई दिक्कत

ठाणे, ४ जुन (भाषा)।

महाराष्ट्र में ठाणे जिले के बदलापुर में एक रसायन कारखाने में गैस का रिसाव होने से उसके आसपास रहने वाले लोगों को कुछ घंटों तक सांस लेने में दिक्कत का सामना करना पड़ा।

एक अधिकारी ने शुक्रवार को बताया कि यह घटना गुरुवार देर रात को हुई और एक घंटे के भीतर ही रिसाव को बंद कर दिया गया। ठाणे महानगरपालिका की क्षेत्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन शाखा के प्रमुख संतोष कदम ने कहा, ''बदलापुर (पूर्व) की शिरगांव एमआइडीसी में कारखाने में रात करीब 10 बजकर 22 मिनट पर गैस रिसाव की सूचना मिली। सल्फ्यूरिक एसिड और बेंजिल एसिड के अत्यधिक गर्म होने से रासायनिक प्रतिक्रिया के कारण यह घटना हुई।"

उन्होंने बताया, ''इसके परिणामस्वरूप कारखाने के आसपास तीन किलोमीटर के इलाके में रह रहे निवासियों ने कुछ घंटों तक सांस लेने में दिक्कत और आंखों में जलन की शिकायत की।" उन्होंने बताया कि सूचना मिलने के बाद बदलापुर नगर परिषद से दमकल की दो और शिरंगांव एमआइडीसी से एक गाड़ी घटनास्थल पर पहुंची और रिसाव को ठीक किया। कदम ने बताया कि रात करीब साढ़े 11 बजे तक हालात काबू में कर लिए गए। घटना से किसी को भी कोई खास नुकसान नहीं पहुंचा है।

केंद्रीय माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड (सीबीएसई) कोडिंग और डाटा साइंस के कोर्स शुरू करने जा रहा है। इन दोनों नए पाठ्यक्रम का उद्देश्य बच्चों की तार्किक क्षमता को बढ़ाना है। केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री रमेश पोखरियाल निशंक ने शुक्रवार को ट्वीट कर इसकी घोषणा की।

निशंक ने कहा कि नई शिक्षा नीति के तहत हमने यह वादा किया था कि स्कूलों के पाद्यक्रमों में कोडिंग और डाटा साइंस को भी शामिल किया जाएगा।

उन्होंने कहा, 'मुझे खुशी है कि सीबीएसई सत्र 2021 से इस वादे को पूरा करने जा रहा है। माइक्रोसॉफ्ट के सहयोग से सीबीएसई भारत की भावी पीढियों को नए जमाने के

बोर्ड ने कहा कि डाटा साइंस विषय को आठवीं कक्षा में 12 घंटे के स्किल मॉड्यूल के तौर पर शामिल किया जाएगा और 11वीं-12वीं में इसे कौशल विषय के तौर पर शामिल किया जाएगा।

सीबीएसई ने कहा कि डाटा साइंस विषय से छात्रों को समस्या समाधान तथा आंकड़ा या डाटा जुटाने एवं संग्रहित करने के बारे में जानकारी मिलेगी तथा उन्हें यह पता चलेगा कि उसका विश्लेषण करके कैसे निर्णय किया जाता है।

बोर्ड का कहना है कि जो स्कूल 11वीं में स्किल विषय के तौर पर इन विषयों को शामिल करने के लिए आवेदन करेंगे, उन्हें कोई फीस का भुगतान नहीं करना है। माइक्रोसॉफ्ट की मदद से दोनों विषयों के अध्ययन सामग्री और किताबें तैयार की गई हैं।

टीआरएस से दिया इस्तीफा

हैदराबाद, 4 जून (भाषा)।

टीआरएस के वरिष्ठ नेता एवं तेलंगाना के पूर्व स्वास्थ्य मंत्री ई. राजेंद्र ने शुक्रवार को कहा कि वह पार्टी की सदस्यता से इस्तीफा दे रहे हैं और भविष्य में विधायक का पद भी छोड़ देंगे। राजेंद्र के परिवार के नाम पर दर्ज कंपनियों के भूमि हथियाने की शिकायतों के बाद उन्हें हाल ही में मंत्रिमंडल से बाहर कर दिया गया था।

उन्होंने पत्रकारों से कहा, 'पार्टी के साथ 19 साल तक जुड़े रहने के बाद, मैं पार्टी और उसकी सदस्यता से इस्तीफा दे रहा हूं। जहां तक पार्टी की सदस्यता की बात है, मैंने पहले भी कहा था कि आपको (तेलंगाना के मुख्यमंत्री के चंद्रशेखर राव) मुझे हटाने की जरूरत नहीं है। मैं विधायक का पद भी छोड़ दूंगा। मैं अपने समर्थकों से बात करने के बाद अपनी आगे की रणनीति के बारे में जानकारी दूंगा।'

केंद्रीय पर्यावरण मंत्री प्रकाश जावडेकर ने शुक्रवार को पानी बचाने की जरूरत पर जोर देते हुए कहा कि मानव और मवेशियों की आबादी बढ़ने से पानी की उपलब्धता कम हुई है। टेरी के विश्व सतत विकास सम्मेलन 2022 के अनावरण समारोह में प्रमुख व्याख्यान देते हुए केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा कि पानी की बिल्कुल भी बर्बादी न हो, इसके लिए नयी तकनीकों का इस्तेमाल होना चाहिए

पांच जून को विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस से पहले यह कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया। उन्होंने इस मौके पर कहा, 'दुनिया के वर्षाजनित ताजा जल के भंडार में भारत की हिस्सेदारी केवल चार फीसद है। इसलिए पानी को बचाने, पुनः उपयोग करने की मूलभूत आवश्यकता है। जब भारत आजाद हुआ था तो पानी की उपलब्धता प्रतिव्यक्ति पांच हजार लीटर थी और अब यह 1,100 लीटर रह गई है। मनुष्य और मवेशियों की आबादी बढ़ने से पानी की उपलब्धता में मुलभूत गिरावट आई है।'

भारत में दुनिया की 18 फीसद जनसंख्या है। वहीं, यहां मवेशियों की संख्या भी दुनिया की 18 फीसद है। जावडेकर ने कहा कि कृषि के क्षेत्र में पानी को बचाने के प्रयास होने चाहिए क्योंकि इस क्षेत्र में करीब 85

तेंदुए के हमले में चारसाल की बच्ची की मौत

जम्मू-कश्मीर के बडगाम में एक तेंदुए के हमले में चार साल की एक बच्ची की मौत हो गई। अधिकारियों ने यह जानकारी दी।

अदा शकील ओम्पोरा हाउसिंग कॉलोनी में स्थित अपने घर के बाहर से गुरुवार शाम लापता हो गई थी और उसकी तलाश करने पर शुक्रवार सुबह उसके शरीर के अवशेष निकट के जंगल से मिले

पुलिस उपायुक्त शाहबाज मिर्जा ने वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों और वन एवं वन्यजीव विभाग के अधिकारियों के साथ एक बैठक बुलाई है ताकि भविष्य में इस तरह की घटनाओं को रोकने के लिए कदम उठाए जाने पर निर्णय हो सके। वन विभाग तत्काल ओम्पोरा जंगल क्षेत्र को घेरने तथा पहले से ही मौजूद घेराबंदी को मजबूत करने के संबंध में जरूरी कोष को हासिल करने के लिए एक विस्तृत रिपोर्ट उच्च पदस्थ पदाधिकारियों को सौंपेगा।
