NICE Selected by MTA New York City Transit for New Rail Control Center

Win comes in partnership with Siemens; transit operator to implement NICE solutions to capture and analyze communications throughout its massive transit network

Ra'anana, Israel, November 14, 2006 - NICE Systems (NASDAQ: NICE), the global provider of advanced solutions that enable organizations to extract Insight from Interactions™ to drive performance, today announced that it has been selected by MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) to provide an advanced solution to capture, reconstruct and analyze voice communications for MTA NYCT's new state-of-the-art Rail Control Center (RCC). The NICE solution is being provided to MTA NYCT through NICE partner, Siemens Transportation Systems, Inc.

The RCC is a new facility with state-of-the-art monitoring systems and is the largest rail control center in the world. As part of the first significant upgrade of New York City's subways since the system was designed more than 100 years ago, the RCC provides more timely subway service by giving NYCT greater control and flexibility to add or reroute trains for an annual ridership of more than 1.4 billion.

New York City Transit will benefit from NICE's solution for capturing transit system voice communications and its Scenario Replay™ for reconstructing scenarios. By utilizing NICE's powerful applications for scenario reconstruction, NYCT will be able to make a thorough and effective review of events to confirm what happened, where and when it happened, and who was involved. This profoundly reduces the time and resources required to search, analyze, and distribute records, and improves the accuracy of event reconstruction to help transit officials better serve the public.

"New York City Transit is one of the premiere transit systems in the world," said Chris Wooten, vice president of NICE Systems' Public Safety Division. "We're very excited to have been selected for this important project and we look forward to helping NYCT build on its long-standing reputation for efficient, dependable and safe transit service."
