Hans Backman – new CFO at NIBE

Hans Backman today takes up the position of CFO at NIBE Industrier AB, succeeding the legendary Leif Gustavsson, who has deservedly started to wind down after more than 45 years of employment at NIBE.

Hans Backman (45) most recently worked at Alstom Transport, where he was CFO of their companies in Germany and Austria since 2009. Prior to that, Hans had a 17-year career at SKF, both in Sweden and internationally, and has also participated in many acquisitions. He has an MBA and an Executive MBA.

"Hans Backman's extensive international experience, including in connection with acquisitions, will be very useful to NIBE. He will also get a perfect NIBE mentor: Leif Gustavsson, who will continue in the role of senior advisor," says Gerteric Lindquist, CEO of NIBE.

Hans, who is originally from Gothenburg, has lived in Berlin for many years, but will move back to Sweden with his wife and their two children who are 9 and 14 years old.
