NEXUS group shows profit and increase in sales in the second quarter 2002 Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Villingen-Schwenningen, August 29, 2002: In the second quarter 2002, NEXUS AG, specialist in the field of medical software solutions shows an increase in sales of 24 % achieving Euro 4.1 million (Q2 2001: Euro 3.3 million) and an improvement of results of Euro 1.0 million achieving Euro 238.6 k (Q2 2001: Euro -770.0 k) thanks to the fairly strong demand for the Group’s systems. In the second quarter, NEXUS reported EBITDA of Euro +642,5 k after Euro -854,0 k in the comparable prior-year quarter and achieved an improvement of Euro 1.5 million. EBIT of the current quarter is Euro +178.0 k compared to Euro -1.375,1 k in the same quarter a year earlier and is also characterised by a significant improvement. The results after six months underline the positive development. Although sales declined due to the restructuring of the Health Care Service division from Euro 8.9 million to Euro 7.2 million, the results improved from Euro -706.0 k in the previous year to Euro -97.5 k. EBITDA climbed from Euro -544,0 k to Euro +233,9 k. Cash flow is a negative Euro 2.6 million due to the increase of working capital and the reduction of liabilities. NEXUS AG is characterised by a solid financial situation. The cash funds amount Euro 18.7 million as of June 30, 2002 and the quota of equity capital is 87%.
