The sender is responsible for the contents of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Massive growth of the NEXUS Group Villingen-Schwenningen, 28.08.2000 – NEXUS AG, a group of companies offering IT solutions for the health industry that has been quoted on the Neuer Markt exchange since 24th July of this year, managed to extend its business activities enormously and to boost its rate of expansion during the first half of the year 2000. The group’s turnover increased in comparison with the same period of last year by 183 percent to DM 28.3 million. This growth is attributable to, among other things, the growing demand for the software products Med-Folio, an electronic system of recording patient data, and INO-RMS, a radiology management system, as well as to a number of company share purchases. The group’s results developed according to plan. Because of the very large resources invested in the development and marketing of software products (approx. DM 3.8 million), the building of a dense service network (approx. DM 4.1 million) and the creation of the Internet platform Medizin-Forum-AG (approx. DM 800,000), NEXUS showed a deficit according to IAS of DM 4.2 million for the group as a whole. In the same period of the previous year, the deficit amounted to only DM 1.7 million. The result of the group’s ordinary business activity was a minus of DM 6.9 million as compared with a loss of DM 3.3 million in the first six months of 1999. The costs of the group’s admission to the stock market are not included in these figures. At 30th June 2000 NEXUS was employing a staff of 406. One year ago its employees totalled only 106. During the second half of the year 2000 NEXUS intends to concentrate on increasing its earnings potential and on rounding out its product and company-share portfolios. The group hopes at the same time to maintain the strong growth that it has shown up to now. It plans, for example, to internationalize its business activities still further. In this connection, among other things, it is hoping to reap considerable benefits from the cooperation agreement concluded in the first half of this year with the world’s leading oncological specialists, MDS Nordion, through which NEXUS has been able to secure access to a global marketing channel in this sector.
