The Middle East customer will implement the first regional build-out of a national digital terrestrial TV network based on Net Insight's Nimbra platform.
Digital TV transmission requires very exact time synchronization at the transmitter stations, which usually rely on GPS receivers. The Nimbra platform will provide efficient and reliable transport of TV signals in combination with Net Insight's unique Time Transfer function allowing Single Frequency Network synchronization signals to replace GPS receivers at multiple TV transmitters in the network. The Time Transfer function will reduce cost and vulnerability in the network.
"The transition into digital TV and the increased need for video transport throughout Middle East, matches our timing of efforts and local presence in the region.", says Fredrik Trägårdh, CEO of Net Insight.
