Neometals appoints new Chairman

Neometals Ltd (ASX: NMT) (“Neometals”) is pleased to advise the appointment of Mr Steven Cole as Chairman as part of a broader plan to strengthen the Board as the company commences the construction phase of the Mt Marion Lithium Project.

Mr Cole, who joined the Board in 2008, assumed the role of Chairman at the conclusion of today’s Annual Meeting, replacing long-serving Chairman Mr David Reed, who has stepped into a Non-Executive Director position.

Mr Cole has more than 40 years corporate and business experience across a broad range of industries including the resources, industrial, financial, educational, professional services, agribusiness and health sectors.

He said that following his appointment as Independent Chair, the Company planned to appoint a further two independent non-executive directors in the coming year.

“The company has matured and grown significantly to the point where we are on the cusp of becoming a significant player in the global lithium markets,” he said. “In this new phase of the Company’s evolution we want to position the company to be attractive to global funds investing in that market sector. Strong strategic focus, governance and operational discipline will be championed”.

Mr Cole paid tribute to Mr Reed, who had chaired the company for the past 14 years and would continue to make a valuable contribution as a non-executive director.

“We are very pleased to have David’s continuing presence and experience on the Board as a non-executive director” said Mr Cole.
