Customers in focus as NCC introduces new Nordic organization for NCC Roads

NCC's customers are the focus of the new Nordic organization being established within NCC Roads. Three Nordic divisions are being formed: stone materials, asphalt and road services.

"The new organization is a strategic effort to optimize our customer offering in the areas of stone materials, asphalt and road services. Having a Nordic work method will be of great importance in our efforts to achieve our strategic profitability targets," says Göran Landgren, Business Area Manager for NCC Roads.

Instead of the current country-based organization, NCC Roads will divide its operations into three divisions, based on the three strategic product areas in its value chain.

The Stone Materials Division will be managed by Per Höglund, who is currently head of the Sweden East business unit. Michael Malm, currently head of the Norwegian business unit, will become head of the Asphalt Division, while Jyri Salonen, currently head of the Finnish business unit, will serve as head of the Road Services Division. All three will become members of NCC Roads' management group, which will also include Anders Kargo, who will become head of the asphalt operations in Denmark in the new organization.

"We will be able to maintain our geographic presence while increasing our focus on Nordic sales and customers in our three divisions," says Göran Landgren.

The new organization will come into effect on January 1, 2014. The changes will primarily affect the company's salaried employees and could potentially entail some minor redundancies. Generally speaking, resources will be transferred from the business area level to the divisional level in an attempt to strengthen business development in NCC Roads' three product areas.
