NCC upgrades area around Vinterstadion and Behrn Arena in Örebro

NCC Construction has been commissioned by Örebroporten Fastigheter AB to upgrade the area around Vinterstadion and Behrn Arena in Örebro. The order is worth approximately SEK 200 million and will be implemented as a partnering project.

Work will commence in August 2008 and comprise construction of a new stand on the eastern side of Behrn Arena and an enclosure of the bandy arena, renovation of the ice hockey hall and construction of a new indoor car park and a number of commercial premises and offices.

– The fact that NCC will participate in and contribute to upgrading the facilities in Örebro in this manner is both gratifying and stimulating. Following the upgrade, the central sports area in Örebro will become a modern and attractive meeting place, says Håkan Carlevi, Department Manager at NCC Construction Eastern Region.

The project is estimated to extend over a period of about two years and will be implemented as a partnering project. In total, about 50 people will be engaged in the project.

NCC Partnering is a structured cooperation format applied in the construction industry, whereby the developer, consultants and contractors jointly resolve construction assignments through open and trusting cooperation in which each party contributes complementary professional knowledge throughout all stages of the project

The contract will be registered among orders during the third quarter of 2008.
