Nationwide announces the resignation of Tony Prestedge, Executive Director and Deputy Chief Executive

Nationwide Building Society has today announced that Tony Prestedge has resigned from his position as Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director following his acceptance of a senior role with Santander UK plc. As a result of his resignation, Tony will step down from the Nationwide Board with immediate effect and will not stand for re-election at the Society's next AGM.

Nationwide Building Society Chairman, David Roberts, said: "On behalf of the Board and our members, I would like to thank Tony for the significant and valuable contribution he has made to the continued success of the Society. He has made a huge difference during his time with Nationwide. We wish him well in his new role."

Tony Prestedge said: "Nationwide has been an amazing place to work. It has been an honour to have served in a number of roles during the last 12 years and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute to the Society's success. I would like thank David and the Board for all their support and guidance. The combined efforts of all the people at Nationwide means the Society is in a strong position to continue meeting the needs of its members, now and into the future."

Notes:

Nationwide will ensure a smooth transition and handover with Tony at which point he will be placed on gardening leave. The position of Deputy Chief Executive at Nationwide will not be replaced, and Tony's current accountabilities will be taken up by other members of the Society's senior leadership team.

Tony became a member of the Board in 2007 and was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive in 2017. He has held a number of senior roles during his time with the Society including Group Development Director, Chief Operating Officer and Leader of Relationships and Distribution.
