Item 8.01. Other Events.

On May 11, 2017, National Health Investors ("NHI") announced in a press release that it will pay a second quarter dividend of $.95 per common share to shareholders of record as of June 30, 2017 and payable on August 10, 2017. A copy of this press release is attached to this Current Report as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein.
