RSNA Congress; Independent US cost benefit study presented; Q2 sales growth

Nanosonics Limited (ASX:NAN) recently presented the Trophon[®] EPR at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Congress in Chicago. RSNA is the world’s largest annual conference and trade show for medical imaging professionals, attracting more than 60,000 delegates. Trophon EPR had a significant presence, on display at Nanosonics’ and GE Healthcare’s stands at the trade show.

“It is evident from our experience at RSNA that in the past year awareness of Trophon EPR has increased substantially amongst sonographers and those making the purchase decisions relating to infection control,” said Dr Ron Weinberger, CEO of Nanosonics.

A presentation by Dr Blum of Oschner Medical Center, Louisiana, delivered at the RSNA Congress is one of the first independent studies to compare Trophon EPR, an automated, rapid and eco-friendly solution for high level disinfection of ultrasound probes against the use of the current chemical process to disinfect probes. The study concluded Trophon EPR delivered a saving of 7.5 hours per week versus the current liquid disinfection process. This enabled health providers to realise significant time and cost efficiencies.

Consistent with the update provided in October 2012 Nanosonics is pleased to report that the current quarter is projected to show growth versus Q2 FY12 and that full year sales are expected to build on the growth achieved last year.
