Nanosonics appoints Steven Sargent as non-executive Director

Nanosonics (ASX: NAN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Steven Sargent as a non-executive director on Nanosonics’ board.

Steven brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Nanosonics with a broad insight into international business. His background in overseeing large scale businesses for GE, including Healthcare, provides a very valuable extension to the existing skills on Nanosonics’ board.

Steven has extensive executive experience having worked across a range of industries spanning the US, Europe and Asia Pacific. Steven joined GE Capital in New York in 1993 and since that time held a number of leadership positions with the company including President and CEO GE Australia, New Zealand, PNG and the Pacific. Steven was appointed Vice President and Officer of General Electric Company in 2008 and was a member of GE’s Global Corporate Executive Council, the first Australian ever to be appointed to such positions in GE’s history. Prior to his retirement from GE, Steven was President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Mining, GE's global mining technology and services business.

Steven is currently a non-executive director of Origin Energy Limited, the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and Chairman of The Origin Foundation. Previously, Steven has served as a nonexecutive director of Veda Group Limited, Bond University Limited and was on the board of the Business Council of Australia. Steven was also a member of the Australian Treasurer’s Financial Sector Advisory Council and President of the American Chamber of Commerce.

Steven holds a Bachelor of Business from Charles Sturt University in New South Wales and is a Fellow of The Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow with the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.
