AGRICULTURE MINISTER SHIVRAJ Singh Chouhan on Saturday urged states to provide suggestions for bridging the gap between consumer prices and the remuneration received by farmers for agricultural commodities.

"The farmer gets a lower price for his produce—including vegetables, fruits and other crops—at the place of production, but when it reaches big cities, it becomes very costly for consumers. How can we reduce this difference? All of us should ponder this," Chouhan said while addressing a pre-budget meeting with state agriculture ministers.

To lower the cost of agricultural production, Chouhan announced that the government will bear the cost of transportationand storage for crops like onions, tomatoes and potatoes when procured directly from farmersbyagencies such as Nafed.

"If we want to increase farmers' income, we need to look at ways to reduce the cost of cultivation,"he said.

The company's board approved a special resolution to issue 129.1 million equity shares at an issue price of I42.6 per share,resultingina 1.728% dilution of the company's total stake, as per its regulatory filings. The fresh funding has pushed Oyo's valuation to \$3.79 billion,markinga 59.2% increase from its previous Series G funding round, when it wasvaluedat \$2.38 billion. Oyo plans to deploy the new capital towards growth initiatives, global expansion, acquisitions, and strengthening its corporate strategy. This is Agarwal's second major capital infusion into Oyo in less than a year. In August lastyear,hehadleda \$175 million investment into Oyo through his Singapore-based fund, Patient Capital.

The company reported flat revenue of ¥5,389 crore in FY24, compared to 35,464 crorein FY23.
