Chief Financial Officer will depart on 30 April 2013

Hobart, Monday, 25 March 2013: Diversified financial services group, MyState Limited, today announced that Chief Financial Officer, Paul Viney, will be leaving the organisation on 30 April, 2013. A process to replace Mr Viney has already commenced.

Mr Viney was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary for Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees in July 2003. He continued in these roles at the formation of MyState Limited in September 2009 following the merger between MyState Financial and Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees. In September 2012, Mr Viney resigned as Company Secretary to focus on growth opportunities for MyState Limited and key capability projects within the finance area.

MyState Limited’s Managing Director, John Gilbert, said; “Paul has made a significant contribution to MyState Limited since it was formed in the merger between MyState Financial and Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees. Not only was Paul influential in that particular merger, he has helped deliver strong results for our organisation.”

Mr Gilbert added, “Paul was integral to the acquisition of The Rock. He has transformed systems and processes within the Group’s finance area, helped to build strong corporate capability in mergers and acquisitions and he leaves the business in very good shape for the future.”

A process to replace Mr Viney has commenced; Mr Gilbert said, “We have begun the search to find a suitable replacement and we intend to make an announcement on a replacement prior to Paul’s departure.”

Mr Viney said; “MyState Limited has produced very strong results under John’s leadership and I am proud of my contribution in driving growth for all stakeholders helping to increase market capitalisation of the Company to some $385 million. With the Company in solid shape, I feel I am able to pursue other opportunities and challenges.”

Mr Gilbert added, “Paul leaves with our sincere appreciation for his efforts and best wishes for the future from the Board, fellow Executives and staff.”
