TRADING HALT
The securities of Cardia Technologies Limited (the “Company”) will be placed in preopen at the request of the Company, pending the release of an announcement by the Company. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in pre-open until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Monday, 18 May 2009 or when the announcement is released to the market.

Cardia Technologies Limited (“the Company”) (ASX Code: CNN) hereby requests a trading halt of its ordinary shares and options quoted on ASX Limited pending an announcement to be made by the Company regarding a placement of new ordinary shares.
A formal announcement will be made within two days of the granting of the trading halt in accordance with the ASX Market Rules.
Pursuant to Listing Rule 17.1, the Company is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted.
