SECOS Chairman’s AGM Address

Dear fellow Shareholders,

On behalf of the Board of SECOS Group Ltd (ASX: SES), I am pleased to present our Annual Report for the year ending 30 June 2020.

The year was underpinned by growth in the Company’s biopolymer product categories which now represents over 56% of the group’s total sales mix and is the fastest growing category up over 76% year on year as at the September 2020 quarter. The company also saw an 86% improvement in gross margin year on year. Strong growth in biopolymer sales are expected to continue throughout 2021 with a substantial pipeline of orders and new customer trials escalating.

Your company is well positioned and equipped to manage the growth task ahead of us. We enjoy a balance sheet with zero debt and over $16m in cash as of 30 September 2020 which will provide a powerful war chest to expand our capacity, capabilities and to service our growing list of global customers. Our focus will be to continue to develop our technology to meet the sustainable packaging and product needs of our customers, whether they are a local government council looking for compostable waste diversion solutions, a major brand looking to make there packaging truly sustainable, retailers looking to stock compostable products or a plastic converter looking to switch over to biopolymer production to supply their customers. The expanding range of market opportunities provides SECOS with a growth horizon peering into the years to come.

What makes SECOS unique is its global reach with manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and China capable of servicing hundreds of markets around the world. Unlike other standalone operators, SECOS also benefits from distribution and sales offices in several key markets with a proven track record of success in biopolymer production and a highly regarded reputation within the industry. This powerful network provides a fully integrated business model supported by strong existing IP with our continued investment in research and development offering customers certainty of supply and the guarantee of quality and high performance.

The world is changing or maybe just going back to the future with composting being the oldest method of organic waste disposal becoming the future of organic waste disposal. With the drive for sustainability, companies that ignore the circular economy will do so at their peril.
