Quartal 2000/01 um 34% Mannheim, 22. Februar 2001. Die MVV Energie AG hat im ersten Quartal des Geschäftsjahres 2000/01 trotz außergewöhnlich milder Witterung im Vergleich zum Vorjahr ihren Absatz, Umsatz und ihr EBIT deutlich verbessert. Der Umsatz erhöhte sich im Vergleich zum Vorjahr um 67% auf rund 548 Mio DM. Das operative Ergebnis vor Zinsen, Steuern und Abschreibungen (EBITDA) verbesserte sich um 43%. Das operative Ergebnis vor Zinsen und Steuern (EBIT) stieg um 34% auf 68 Mio DM. Der Jahresüberschuss verbesserte sich um 15% auf rund 26 Mio DM. Der Cashflow wuchs um 39% auf 69 Mio DM. Das kräftige Unternehmenswachstum beruht vor allem auf erstmals konsolidierten Beteiligungsgesellschaften, insbesondere die Energieversorgung Offenbach AG (EVO). Ohne Berücksichtigung der Beteiligungsgesellschaften erhöhte sich der Umsatz im ersten Quartal 2000/01 um 17% auf rund 375 Mio DM und das EBIT um 4% auf rund 53 Mio DM. ____________________________________________________________ Impressive Corporate Growth of MVV Energie AG through New Participations EBIT Grows 34% in 1st Quarter 2000/01 Mannheim, February 22, 2001. MVV Energie AG significantly improved its volume, sales and EBIT in the first quarter of fiscal year 2000/01 despite unusually milder weather conditions compared to last year. Sales increased by 67% compared to last year to DM 548 million. Earnings before interest, taxes and depreciation (EBITDA) improved by 43%. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were up 34% to DM 68 million. Earnings after taxes rose 15% to approx. DM 26 million. Cash flow grew 39% to DM 69 million. This healthy corporate growth was based mainly on participations that were consolidated for the first time, particularly Energieversorgung Offenbach AG (EVO). Without taking the participations into account, sales increased by 17% to approx. DM 375 million and EBIT by 4% to approx. DM 53 million.
