The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Mühlbauer continues profitable growth in the second quarter Roding, August 4,2003 – Due to sales increases and effective cost management Muehlbauer Holding AG & Co. KGaA (WKN 662720; ISIN DE0006627201), the worldwide supplier of innovative technology solutions for the security industry, increased profits significantly in the second quarter 2003. EBIT increased from EUR 0.8m to EUR 1.8m (+122 %). Earnings before taxes increased from EUR 0.3m to EUR 1.8m, corresponding to a return on sales of 7.7 % (1.3 % in Q2/2002). Net earnings increased from EUR 0.3m to EUR 1.2m (+ 266 %). Earnings per share amounted to EUR 0.08 (EUR 0.03 in Q2/2002). Mühlbauer continued the profitable growth from the first quarter and increased EBIT on half year basis by 166.7 % and EPS by 180.0 %. Sales grew by 16.0 % to EUR 23.9m in the second quarter (EUR 20.6m in Q2/2002). Compared to Q2/2002 order income increased about 24.3 % to EUR 27.7m (Q2/2002: EUR 22.3m). After the realization of planned investments in the first quarter 2003 free cash flow increased significantly in the second quarter to EUR +1.2m, particularly by reason of the positive profit development and the consistent working capital management.
