KGaA, Roding (WKN 662720), listed in Nemax 50 index since June 24, 2002, can report a clear increase in order income in comparison to previous quarter. Amounting to 22.3 mill. EUR, it is exceeding 1st quarter (18.1 mill. EUR) around 23 percent. In addition to sales, with 20.7 mill. EUR consolidating at preceding quarter’s level (21.1 mill. EUR), the order backlog at the end of halfyear closed at 38.7 mill. EUR. Based on these figures the upward trend has stabilized, despite basic economic conditions remaining uncertain. Particularly incoming orders could improve significantly and noticed only 12 percent less than last year’s high level (25.3 mill. EUR). The orders in the smart ID segment (10.2 mill. In the area of semiconductor related products, a pleasant increase could be stated: With 7.3 mill. EUR, incoming orders from April to June 2002 have more than doubled compared with previous quarter (2.9 mill. EUR) and even more than tripled in opposite to previous year’s period (2.3 mill. EUR). This increase based on the marketability of latest technologies like die sorting, through which a higher productivity is reached. The innovative and high technological segment of roller coating here also contributes a significant interest. The sales trend is to a large portion supported by the core segment smart ID. From April to June 2002 11.9 mill. EUR could be delivered (previous year: 17.1 mill. EUR), what is a share of almost 60 percent of total sales. Aside from the segment semiconductor related products with 5.0 mill. EUR (previous year: 7.2 mill. EUR), segments precision parts and board handling contributed 2.5 mill. EUR (previous year: 2.5 mill EUR) respectively 1.3 mill. EUR (previous year: 2.0 mill. EUR), what also indicate the beginning of a positive development.
