Muehlhan receives order for new US Navy vessel

Hamburg, 5 February 2010 - Muehlhan AG (Entry Standard; ISIN DE000A0KD0F7)
has been awarded a contract to coat a new naval vessel, the USS Arlington.
The volume of this project is approximately USD 4.8 million. The US Navy
expects the almost 210-meter-long amphibious transport dock to be completed
by 2011.

Along with the USS New York and the USS Somerset, the USS Arlington will be
the third warship to be named in honor of the victims of the attacks of
September 11, 2001. To commemorate the attack on the Pentagon in Arlington,
Virginia, reprocessed steel salvaged from the damaged Department of Defense
building will be used in the construction of the USS Arlington. The
construction of its sister ships, which have already been commissioned, was
also deeply symbolic. Several tons of steel from the ruins of the collapsed
World Trade Center were used in their construction.

Winning this contract represents yet another success for Muehlhan's U.S.
business. Following a lengthy delay, the USA once again began awarding
sizable newbuilding contracts a few months ago. This contract will further
reinforce Muehlhan's USA region. At the same time, it demonstrates that the
Ship Newbuilding segment will continue to be of fundamental importance to
the Muehlhan Group, despite the significant weakness of this sector in
Germany and Europe.
