Muehlhan lands another bridge project in the USA

* Renovation of the Lewis & Clark Bridge spanning the Columbia River

* Order volume of around USD 5.1 million

Hamburg, 5 March 2009 - Muehlhan AG (Entry Standard; ISIN DE000A0KD0F7),
which provides surface protection for steel structures worldwide, has been
awarded another major contract. The consolidated U.S. subsidiary Muehlhan
Certified Coatings Inc. (MCC), a bridge renovation company headquartered in
California, has been awarded a contract by the Washington State Department
of Transportation to renovate a steel bridge. The work is to be performed
between April and November 2009 at an estimated project volume of
approximately USD 5.1 million.

The 2.5-kilometer-long Lewis & Clark Bridge, which will be 80 years old
next year, spans the Columbia River between the U.S. states of Oregon and
Washington. This project calls for MCC to renovate the bridge's support
piers. All three of the main piers will be completely scaffolded, blasted
with steel grit and covered with a moisture-resistant coating system.

Looking forward, Muehlhan is also confident that the company is positioned
to benefit from an above-average share of the upcoming infrastructure
projects that are planned as part of the U.S. economic stimulus program.
The company expects the number of competitors capable - in spite of the
financial crisis - of providing the guarantees required for government
contracts to decline significantly.
