MPC Capital’s first-quarter result improves by 10% Corporate-news announcement sent by DGAP. The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Net profit increases to EUR 2.3 million Hamburg, May 16, 2003 – In the first three months of 2003, MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Capital AG, the SDAX-listed financial service provider, increased its net profit by 10% from EUR 2.1 million to EUR 2.3 million. Net profit per share improved from EUR 0.19 to EUR 0.21. First-quarter sales amounted to EUR 13.2 million, compared to EUR 16.4 million in the same period of the previous year. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) came to EUR 3.3 million, up 31% on the first quarter of 2002 (EUR 2.5 million). As at March 31, 2003, the Hamburg- based issuing house employed 138 people (2001: 133). “The first quarter of 2003 was characterized by new developments for the current financial year such as Canada 3, our biggest foreign real estate fund ever, and the second life insurance fund. Other developments relate to the future; our position as a competent and reliable partner enabled us to secure prime ship projects which will offer investors attractive investment opportunities in the form of high-yield funds in 2004 and 2005. In total, these are 13 ships with over EUR 250 million of equity to be syndicated,” said Board Chairman, Dr. Axel Schroeder. For the full year 2003, the Managing Board expects sales of EUR 90 million and a net profit of EUR 15 million. The Managing Board therefore intends to stick to its shareholder-friendly dividend policy.
