Für den Inhalt der Mitteilung ist allein der Emittent verantwortlich. —————————————————————————— MORPHOSYS ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH CENTOCOR HuCAL Technology Forms Basis for Wide-ranging Collaboration MorphoSys AG (Neuer Markt: MOR), the Munich-based biotechnology company, today announced a wide-ranging collaboration with Centocor Inc., Malvern, PA/USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson (J&J), New Brunswick, NJ/USA. Under the agreement, MorphoSys will receive technology license fees, research & development funding, and milestone payments. In addition, should Centocor market any drugs that come out of the collaboration, MorphoSys will receive royalty payments. Centocor, which will make a 3 million Euro upfront payment to MorphoSys, will also provide up to 19 million Euro in license payments and committed R&D support over the five year term of the agreement. Centocor has an option on up to 30 therapeutic target molecules against which MorphoSys will make optimized fully human antibodies using HuCAL. MorphoSys schliesst Kooperationsvereinbarung mit Centocor HuCAL-Technologie Basis fuer weitreichende Kooperation Das Muenchener Biotechnologie-Unternehmen MorphoSys AG (Neuer Markt: MOR) gab heute den Abschluss einer Kooperationsvereinbarung mit dem in Malvern/USA ansaessigen Unternehmen Centocor Inc. bekannt. Centocor ist ein 100 prozentiges Tochterunternehmen des pharmazeutischen US-Konzerns Johnson & Johnson. Im Rahmen der Vereinbarung erhaelt MorphoSys Zahlungen fuer den Technologiezugang, fuer die geleistete wissenschaftliche Arbeit sowie fuer das Erreichen von Zwischenergebnissen waehrend der Kooperation, sogenannte Meilensteine. Sollte Centocor Produkte aus der Kooperation vermarkten wird MorphoSys zusaetzlich durch Lizenzgebuehren am Umsatz beteiligt. Mit Unterschrift des Vertrages wird die erste Zahlung in Hoehe von 3 Millionen Euro an MorphoSys faellig. Ueber die fuenfjaehrige Vertragslaufzeit bekommt MorphoSys von Centocor zusaetzlich bis zu 19 Millionen Euro an Lizenzgebuehren und Wissenschaftsgeldern. Centocor wird bis zu 30 Zielmolekuele zur Verfuegung stellen gegen die MorphoSys optimierte voll menschliche HuCAL-Antikoerper generieren wird. Ende der Mitteilung
