Juni 2000–Das Muenchner Biotechnologie-Unternehmen MorphoSys AG, (Neuer Markt: MOR 663200) und das in San Francisco/USA angesiedelte Biotechnologie-Unternehmen Eos, gaben heute die Unterzeichnung einer Lizenzvereinbarung bekannt. Eos wird mit Hilfe der MorphoSys HuCAL- Technologie (Humane kombinatorische Antikoerper- Bibliothek) Antikoerper generieren. Eos wird die HuCAL-Technologie in seinen Pharma- Entwicklungsprogrammen zur Validierung von Zielmolekuelen und in der Proteomik Forschung einsetzen. Ausserdem erhaelt Eos die Option, bestimmte Antikoerper zu Medikamenten weiterzuentwickeln. MorphoSys erhaelt fuer den Zugang zur HuCAL-Technologie Lizenzgebuehren. Darueber hinaus werden bei Erreichen definierter Ergebnisse in der Produktentwicklung, sogenannte Meilensteinzahlungen sowie Tantiemen an vermarkteten Produkten faellig. Ueber die Hoehe der Zahlungen wurden keine Angaben gemacht. MORPHOSYS LICENSES HUCAL TO EOS BIOTECHNOLOGY Martinsried/Munich, Germany, –14 June, 2000 — MorphoSys AG, a Munich-based biotechnology company, and Eos Biotechnology Inc., a South San Francisco- based genomics company announced today an agreement under which Eos will acquire a licence to MorphoSys’ HuCAL (Human Combinatorial Antibody Library) technology for antibody generation. Eos will apply the HuCAL technology in its pharmaceutical discovery programmes for target validation and proteomics research. In addition, Eos has an option to develop certain antibodies as therapeutics. Under the agreement, Eos will pay technology licence fees to MorphoSys as well as make milestone and royalty payments on any antibody therapeutics. No financial details were disclosed.
