Juli 2000– Das Muenchner Biotechnologie Unternehmen MorphoSys AG gab heute die Erweiterung seiner Kooperation mit DuPont Pharmaceuticals Company bekannt. Die neue Vereinbarung ist eine Erweiterung des bestehenden Lizenz-Vertrages, der DuPont die Nutzung der HuCAL- Bibliotheken von MorphoSys fuer Forschungszwecke erlaubt. Die beiden Unternehmen werden bei der Entwicklung eines Systems zur vollautomatischen Antikoerper-Generierung, genannt AutoCAL, zusammenarbeiten. AutoCAL wird auf der HuCAL- Technologie basieren und die Antikoerper-Generierung im Hochdurchsatz ermoeglichen. Im Rahmen der Vereinbarung erhaelt MorphoSys Zahlungen von DuPont fuer die Nutzung der HuCAL Bibliotheken zu Forschungszwecken und fuer die Installierung von AutoCAL bei DuPont Pharmaceuticals in Wilmington, Delaware/USA. Wissenschaftler beider Unternehmen werden bei der Optimierung des AutoCAL-Systems zusammenarbeiten. Falls DuPont Pharmaceuticals die Option zur kommerziellen Weiterentwicklung eines therapeutischen oder diagnostischen Wirkstoffs ausuebt, erhaelt MorphoSys Lizenz- und Meilenstein- Zahlungen sowie Tantiemen. MorphoSys behaelt alle Rechte an AutoCAL. Finanzielle Details der Vereinbarung sind nicht veroeffentlicht. MORPHOSYS EXPANDS AGREEMENT WITH MAJOR PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY COLLABORATION FOR ROBOTIC ANTIBODY GENERATION Martinsried/Munich, Germany, –6 July, 2000 — MorphoSys AG, the Munich-based biotechnology company, today announced the expansion of its existing agreement with the DuPont Pharmaceuticals Company. Under the new agreement, DuPont Pharmaceuticals will extend its current research licence to MorphoSys’ proprietary HuCAL antibody libraries, and the two companies will collaborate in developing a system for fully automated antibody generation called AutoCAL. AutoCAL will utilise the HuCAL technology, and will enable the high throughput generation of antibodies.MorphoSys will receive payments for DuPont Pharmaceuticals’ research use of the HuCAL libraries and for the installation of AutoCAL at DuPont Pharmaceuticals’ Wilmington, DE facility. Scientists from the two companies will collaborate in optimising the AutoCAL system for the generation of research antibodies. In the event that DuPont Pharmaceuticals exercises an option to develop antibodies for commercial use as therapeutic or diagnostic agents, MorphoSys will receive licence payments, milestones and royalties.
