Februar 2001 –Das Muenchner biopharmazeutische Unternehmen gab die Umsaetze fuer das Jahr 2000 sowie die Einstellung zweier neuer Direktoren bekannt. Die folgende Vorschau auf die Umsaetze fuer das Jahr 2000 ist ohne Beruecksichtigung der Auswirkungen der Implementierung der U.S Securities and Exchange Commission’s Staff Accounting Bulletin No. 101 (SAB 101). Das Unternehmen erzielte einen Jahresumsatz von Euro 13.1 Millionen, was einer Steigerung von 139 Prozent gegenueber den im Vorjahr erzielten Umsaetzen von Euro 5.5 Millionen entspricht. Mit 51 Prozent entfiel der groesste Teil des Umsatzanstiegs auf die gestiegene Zahl umfangreicher Kooperationen in verschiedenen Geschaeftssegmenten. Kooperationen zu therapeutischen Antikoerpern und zu Lizenzvertraegen zum Technologietransfer repraesentieren 24 respektive 21 Prozent des Anstiegs. Im vierten Quartal 2000 adaptierte das Unternehmen das Staff Accounting Bulletin 101 (SAB 101) der U.S Securities and Exchange Commission. Daher weist MorphoSys einen kumulativen Effekt durch die Anpassung der Rechnungslegungsstandards bezueglich der Umsaetze aus, die in frueheren Perioden gebucht wurden. MorphoSys berichtet eine einmalige, nicht zahlungswirksame Belastung von Euro 3,2 Millionen in Zusammenhang mit diesen Umsaetzen. Durch die Anpassung an SAB 101 weist das Unternehmen einen Jahresumsatz von Euro 8,4 Millionen aus. Das Jahresergebnis 2000 des Unternehmens wird anlaesslich einer Analysten- und Pressekonferenz am 19. Maerz 2001 vorgestellt. MorphoSys Previews Year 2000 Revenues Announces Senior Appointments Martinsried/Munich, Germany, — February 8, 2001– The Munich-based biotechnology company, today announced a preview of its year 2000 revenues, and two senior appointments. The following preview of revenues for the full year 2000 excludes the impact of the company’s adoption of the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission’s Staff Accounting Bulletin No. 101 (SAB 101). The Company achieved year-end 2000 revenues of Euro 13.1 million, an increase of 139% over the Euro 5.5 million revenues attained in 1999. The sales increase was driven mainly by increased collaboration revenues, representing 51 % of total revenues. Therapeutic antibody collaboration and HuCAL licensing deal revenues represented 24% and 21 % of total revenues for the full year 2000, respectively. In the 4th quarter 2000, the Company adopted Securities and Exchange Staff Accounting Bulletin 101 (SAB 101), and will record a cumulative effect of change in accounting principle related to revenue recognition of contract revenues recognized in prior periods. As a result, MorphoSys will record a one-time, non-cash charge of Euro 3.2 mil. relating to these revenues. Moreover, after giving effect to the adjustment of SAB 101, MorphoSys’ year-end 2000 revenues will be Euro 8.4 mil. Euro. The Company’s year-end 2000 financial statements will be presented at its press and analyst conference on March 19, 2001. Senior appointments joining from pharmaceutical companies MorphoSys also announced the appointments of Dr. Marlies Sproll to the post of Director of Therapeutic Antibody Development and Ms. Mary L.
