Monadelphous Secures QCLNG Maintenance Contract

Leading engineering group Monadelphous Group Limited (ASX: MND) (“Monadelphous” or “the Company”) today announced it has been awarded a contract with QGC Pty Ltd (QGC), valued at more than $80 million, to provide maintenance services at its Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) plant.

Monadelphous will provide multidisciplinary core maintenance and shutdown services to support the operations phase of the QCLNG plant, which is under construction at Curtis Island, near Gladstone in Queensland.

The contract commences in January 2013 for an initial six-and-a-half-year term.

QGC is a leading coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on establishing QCLNG as the world's first project to convert coal seam gas into liquefied natural gas (LNG). QCLNG is one of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects which will supply cleaner hydrocarbon energy for export markets from 2014. QGC’s parent company is BG Group, a UK-based global energy player with operations in more than 20 countries.

“We’re pleased to have QGC as a major new customer and to become a key service provider on one of Queensland’s first coal seam gas LNG plants,” Managing Director Rob Velletri said.

“Monadelphous has been established in Gladstone for more than 20 years and this contract will provide new employment opportunities in the region and add to our growing portfolio of LNG work.”
