Sub: Request for waiver of time limit for publication of Unaudited Financial Results of MMTC Ltd for the quarter ended on 30[th] June 2021.

Sir/Madam,

As you are aware, MMTC Limited is a Govt. of India Enterprise under the administrative control of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt of Inida.

Due to the second phase of severe COVID pandemic since mid-April 2021 onwards, many of our employees got affected and some are still in recovery stage. It may also be mentioned that due to sudden demise of the senior partner of our Statutory Auditors – M/s M L Puri & Co., the auditing work needs to be handled by another partner of the statutory auditor firm. Considering the number of joint venture companies in India and one wholly owned subsidiary in overseas (Singapore), consolidation of Annual Audited Accounts becomes very difficult to be completed within the time limit. NINL, a JV of MMTC is yet to finalise its annual accounts due to Corona/labour issues. All efforts are being made to get the accounts of NINL finalized soon. Recently, we have also got Hon’ble Supreme Court’s decision in a case which is very important to be brought out in MMTC’s account (please refer to our earlier communication no. BS/325/SE.S/2019 dated 4.8.2021), impact of the same is being worked out for disclosure in our books of account.
Keeping the above circumstances in view, we request the Stock Exchanges to extend the time limit for consideration and approval of Unaudited Financial Results (both stand alone and consolidated) for the quarter ended on 30[th] June 2021 by the Board of Directors of MMTC Ltd by 30[th] September 2021 and subsequent announcement of Annual Audited Results thereafter.
