In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 9.6.14, Mitchells & Butlers plc announces that Bob Ivell, its non-executive Chairman, has been appointed as non-executive Chairman of Carpetright plc which is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Mr Ivell's appointment as non-executive Chairman of Carpetright is with effect from 1 November 2014.
