MIRVAC GROUP ANNOUNCES BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Mirvac Group (“Mirvac”) Chairman Mr James MacKenzie today announced the appointment of Mr John Peters and the forthcoming appointment of Mrs Marina Darling to the Mirvac Board as non-executive directors.
The appointments were announced at Mirvac’s Annual General Meeting and General Meetings this morning.
Marina Darling’s career includes extensive commercial, legal and corporate advisory experience.
Marina is currently the Managing Director of Caponero Group, a diversified property development and investment organisation. Alongside her executive role, she is currently a non-executive director of Argo Investments Limited and Southern Cross Media Group Limited. Marina has previously been a non-executive director of a number of listed companies and other entities including Southern Cross Broadcasting Limited, National Australia Trustees Limited, GIO Holdings Limited, Deacons (Lawyers) and Southern Hydro Limited.
John’s background includes 35 years in property design, project management and property management and development. This includes 14 years with Lend Lease where he was Queensland Manager of Lend Lease Development and Director, Lend Lease Commercial.
For the last 16 years, John has been the principal of a private development company focused on substantial mixed use developments and redevelopments in south east Queensland. In addition, John has consulted to investors and other financial stakeholders in relation to a number of Queensland development projects.
“The Board is delighted that both Marina and John have accepted non-executive director roles. They both bring extensive, relevant experience to Mirvac and we look forward to their contribution,” said Mr MacKenzie.
The appointment of John Peters is effective immediately, while Marina Darling is expected to join the Board in January 2012.
Following these appointments and the retirement of Penny Morris, the Mirvac Board will comprise seven non-executive directors and one executive director.
