MINBOS SECURES PORT ACCESS IN ANGOLA

Minbos Resources Ltd ( Minbos or the Company ) is pleased to advise that it has entered into a Letter of Intent ( LOI ) with Caioporto, S.A. in the Cabinda province of Angola. The non-binding LOI provides Minbos with initial port capacity to export no less than 800,000 tons of rock phosphate product per annum. The Port of Caio is planned to be operational in the 3rd quarter of 2017 and at a 12.5m draft is ideally suited to the seaborne rock phosphate market. The Port of Caio is located about 110 km by road from Minbos’ Cabinda phosphate project.

The parties have agreed to enter into a formal binding port services agreement which will include the following:

  • Term –Minimum of 10 years with an option to extend for a further 10 years.

  • Volume –No less than 800,000 tons per annum of rock phosphate being exported.

  • Berth capacity for approximately 26 vessels per year.

  • Wharf area to accommodate all of Minbos’ storage and equipment requirements.

  • Minbos being allocated 5 hectares of working area in the Port of Caio Industrial area.

Minbos Chief Executive Officer Lindsay Reed said, “Securing port capacity is a significant step in developing the high grade Cabinda phosphate project in Angola. The Port of Caio is planning to be operational in the 3rd quarter of 2017, and this aligns well with the full scale development timeline of the Cabinda phosphate project which is without peer in the Atlantic basin.”

ABOUT PORT OF CAIO

The Port of Caio is a world class deep water port development in the Cabinda province of Angola which is expected to be operational in the 3rd quarter of 2017 and will consist of a commercial dock area of 1995 metres. The Port will provide additional export channels for Angola’s oil and mining industry and represents a huge investment in the region. In the long term this new port is expected to create more than 1000 jobs.

The Port of Caio development is directly aligned with the plans of the Government of Angola to rebuild the national infrastructure. The construction of the greenfield port will be divided into three phases to ensure that construction is implemented in a manner that is sustainable and minimally impacts local communities and the environment.
