DAVID KNOX ANNOUNCED AS CHAIRMAN ELECT
Patrick O’Brien to remain a Non-Executive Director, after five years as Chairman
Adelaide, Australia, 18 November 2020: Australian hi-tech company Micro-X Ltd (ASX:MX1) ( Micro-X or the Company ), a leader in cold cathode x-ray technology for the health and security markets globally, advises that the Board has agreed that Mr David Knox, an existing member of the board, will be its next Chairman. As part of an orderly transition, the current Chairman, Mr. Patrick O’Brien, will hand over the role early in the new year and will then continue as a NonExecutive director, subject to his being re-elected at today’s AGM.
David Knox joined the Micro-X Board on 7 April 2020 as part of a planned Board renewal process and is a highly experienced and respected business leader with senior commercial leadership, engineering and public markets expertise gained in multi-national, domestic and Commonwealth companies. He was previously Managing Director & CEO of Santos from March 2008 through to his retirement in December 2015.
David Knox brings significant board experience and is currently Chair of Snowy Hydro Limited and The Australian Centre for Social Innovation. He is also a board member of Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation ( CSIRO ), Redflow Limited, the Migration Council of Australia, the Adelaide Festival and the Royal Institution of Australia.
Patrick O’Brien joined the Micro-X Board in 2015 and was Chairman at the time of the Company’s initial public offering. He will continue to contribute to the Company’s strategy and governance moving forward and support David as the incoming Chairman.

Micro-X has a portfolio of innovative products in development, including the MBI for imaging Improvised Explosive Devices in security, defence and counter-terrorism applications; a next-generation self-service X-Ray Airport Checkpoint Portal with an integrated body scanner; and a lightweight brain CT imager for early stroke diagnosis in ambulances. Micro-X has its core R&D, engineering and production capability in Adelaide, Australia with a fully in-sourced CNT tube manufacturing line and approximately 95% Australian locally manufactured content.
