ASX Announcement – MICRO-X LIMITED (ASX: MX1)

APPOINTMENT OF CFO

Micro-X Limited (‘Micro-X’) today announced the appointment of Georgina Carpendale as Chief Financial Officer reporting to Managing Director Peter Rowland.

Georgina joins Micro-X from Signostics, another medical device company in the Tonsley Innovation and Manufacturing Precinct, where she has been Financial Controller and Company Secretary.

Commenting on the appointment Peter Rowland said: “I am very pleased to have Georgina join the leadership team at Micro-X. Her experience at Signostics, which is manufacturing hand-held medical diagnostic ultrasound imagers for global markets, positions her ideally to add value as Micro-X progresses down a similar path."

“We are working towards the market launch of our revolutionary light-weight mobile X-Ray machine, the Nano, later this year. Exceptional feedback has already been received from key potential end-customers and we are mindful of the need to ensure Micro-X is equipped to manage the full range of challenges that come with rapid growth. We have already made great progress in our accreditation and, with our supply chain partners, in simplifying logistics and reducing the cost of parts. Now, with our assembly capability operating to plan producing the prototype units for the verification and validation test programs, it is timely to introduce a full-time CFO to manage the increased tempo of the entire finance function.”

Georgina starts with Micro-X on 14 June 2016.

The Company has three initial products in its development pipeline – a mobile medical x-ray imager for hospitals, a version for deployed military use and a mobile security back-scatter imager. It is establishing manufacturing for these products in an ISO13485 certified facility in Tonsley, South Australia.
