  • Roth & Rau AG reinforces Management Board
  • Supervisory Board appoints Thomas Hengst as Sales Director

Hohenstein-Ernstthal, 27 May 2009 - The Supervisory Board of Roth & Rau AG
has appointed Thomas Hengst to the Management Board as of 1 July 2009. Roth
& Rau is thus boosting its Management Board, which has so far comprised two
members, in view of the strategic and operational challenges associated
with the size the company has now attained and the continuation of its
growth course. Hengst has already worked for Roth & Rau AG for more than
seven years and has extensive knowledge of the global photovoltaics market
and relevant technologies and production processes in the field of solar
cell production equipment. As Sales Director, he will focus in particular
on pressing ahead with the company's further international expansion,
drawing on his longstanding experience in the photovoltaics sector in the
process. In recent years, Hengst made a decisive contribution towards
developing the Asian market, now the most important sales market for the
Group's systems and turnkey production lines with a share of sales of
around 40%. Prior to his appointment to the Management Board, Hengst held
the position of Vice President Photovoltaics and thus already formed part
of the extended management team of the Roth & Rau Group.

'I am very much looking forward to working with Thomas Hengst and am
convinced that the Roth & Rau Group will benefit from his extensive
experience in the international photovoltaics market in the context of its
further growth strategy. I am delighted above all that in Thomas Hengst we
have been able to appoint a longstanding Roth & Rau employee and top
manager from our company to this post, thus also retaining his skills in
the longer term', commented Dr. Dietmar Roth, CEO of Roth & Rau AG.
