Mikko Helander resigns from his position as Metsä Board’s CEO

Metsä Board Corporation Stock Exchange Release on 28 May 2014 at 8.30 am

CEO Mikko Helander will resign from Metsä Board to join Kesko Corporation as of
1 December 2014. Helander will continue as Metsä Board's CEO for the time
being.

The Board of Directors of Metsä Board has initiated a process to appoint a new
CEO.
