The RC compo n ent of phas e II drilling a t Bluebird was completed on sched u le and on b u dget, with 8 holes dril l ed for a tot a l of 1354m. Two of the holes were pre-collars f o r the diam o nd rig and a further th r ee did not p enetrate thr o ugh to the h igh grade g old target p o sition. The s e five hol e s will be di a mond tailed in the coming weeks ( F igure 2). BBDD0003, w as designe d as a pre-collar but w a s complete d by RC drill i ng due to a breakdown a nd subseq u ent delay with the dia m ond drill rig.
All R C one me t re composite samples w ere scann e d with a h a ndheld XR F analyser t o map roc k types and a lteration, a n d to deter m ine which s a mples wer e suitable fo r assay. A t o tal of 336 anomalous samples w e re submitt e d to the la b oratory fro m all the hol e s drilled, despite onl y three hole s penetrating the lower h igh-grade g o ld contact p osition. Re s ults are ex p ected in t h e coming w e eks.
The diamond d r illing comp o nent of ph a se II has progressed slower than a nticipated d ue to me c hanical iss u es with th e diamond r i g. A major engine failure delaye d drilling by three we e ks. A repla c ement engine has no w been fitted and the ri g is operati n g at full ca p acity.
