MERSEN SIGNS AN ORDER WORTH MORE THAN €2 MILLION TO EQUIP THE WORLD'S TWO LARGEST POWER CONVERSION STATIONS
Paris, March 24, 2021 - Mersen, a global expert in electrical specialties and advanced materials, has announced the signing of an order worth more than 2 million euros with China's RongXin Power Electronic (RXPE) for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area power supply project.
Mersen will supply nearly 28,000 cooling plates to protect the power modules integrated in two high voltage flexible HVDC converter stations. These new converter stations, which will interconnect the power grids of Dongguang and Zengcheng districts, will be the largest ever built in the world and will ensure a secure supply of power to the Greater Bay Area, thus promoting the region's economic and social development.
The Group was chosen after a tender process lasting several months, based on the flawless reliability assurances required for this type of equipment, which is used in particularly demanding environments and conditions.

Delivery is scheduled from March to October 2021.
